Gold Rush
The City of Trees Orienteering Club welcomes you to three days of orienteering competition in Idaho, including two A-meet days and a sprint. The two days of A-meets in Idaho City, a 45 minute drive from Boise, combine for the Western States Champs. Our meet site near the historic mining town of Idaho City is an open ponderosa pine forest that has been periodically subjected to controlled burns so there is no deadfall and very little undergrowth. There are some steep hills and an intensely hydromined area providing for interesting orienteering that will be used primarily on the medium course day. This will be the A-meet premier of our high quality map which was made by respected mapper Alexi Zuev in 2007. We have arranged for the use of scenic Camp Ivydale for meet headquarters, official lodging, and group dinner which will make for a nice group experience.
