Gold Rush 2017: US Orienteering Championships

The City of Trees Orienteering Club is pleased to announce the latest edition of the Gold Rush national meet (formerly known as an A-meet).  Three days of U.S. Championships include Sprint, Long, and Middle distances that will take place June 23-25, 2017 in Boise and near Stanley, Idaho. The program includes:

  • Friday Sprint at Boise State University campus, Boise, ID
  • Saturday Long on Trap Creek, Stanley, ID
  • Sunday technical Middle on Dutch Lake, Stanley, ID

Each day includes all OUSA classes.  Special prizes will be awarded for overall Gold Rush champions using a multi-day scoring system in each class.

The Boise State University maps is being fully revised and detailed by Sergey Velichko to include many expansions and updates to offer a flat, fast urban environment with a spectator friendly start/finish area at the amphitheater that offers plenty of nooks and crannies to watch for.  Trap Creek and Dutch Lake are the newest maps in the CTOC inventory.  These are on par with the classic Gold Rush map in Idaho City, and developed by the same mapper Alexey Zuev.  The technical, wooded terrain and beauty of the Stanley basin makes it well worthwhile.

Stanley, Idaho is located at the foot of the Sawtooth mountains, one of the most iconic mountain ranges in the state that offers additional recreational opportunities all around.
